In the Kelvin timeline, the USS Armstrong (NCC-1769) was a Federation starship, an Armstrong-class ship of the line in service to Starfleet in the mid-23rd century.
- The ship's registry is NCC-1769. Human astronaut Neil Armstrong was on a historic mission in 1969.
History[]
On stardate 2258.42, the Armstrong was docked at Starbase 1. When Starfleet received a distress call from Vulcan concerning a phenomenon that appeared like lightning in space. The fleet undocked from Starbase 1 and warped to Vulcan.
Upon arrival, the entire fleet, including the Armstrong, was obliterated by modified Romulan mining freighter from an alternate 24th century, the Narada, and thus unable to prevent the Destruction of Vulcan.
Within the year, Starfleet had launched a new Armstrong of the same class, which helped save the Vulcans from obliteration at the hands of the Romulans in the Battle of Ceti Alpha V.
